1936 Marx, Mystic Motorcycle in Original Box
Outstanding clockwork tin litho motorcycle cop complete with key and original box. Originally advertised as a "tricky" motorcycle it's supposed to run on a table top, stop and turn before it goes over the edge. Two parallel wheels and one perpendicular wheel provide the movement. The earlier of two versions, the Mystic Motorcycle features a blue uniformed cop with cap and P.D. emblems. Cop is integrated as part of the motorcycle which is lithoed to show stationary wheels, handlebars, and engine detail. The toy sold originally for 25¢. The key looks to be original. The box is a simple text style, however it contains more text than most other Marx toys. It's abilities to "scoot around" and "do many tricks" are advertised. Dark or light coloration seen in the photo's was due to lighting. The color is uniformly beige which has darkened slightly. Size: 4¼" long. Sold: Apr. 2006
